My brain is a tangled up knot of thoughts this morning and has been for several weeks. Ever cut open a golf ball? A tight mass of rubber bands. Yep, that’s my brain.
Job related thoughts.
Honey extracting thoughts.
Relationships thoughts.
Ordering Your Private World thoughts.
Early morning thoughts when I hear crows talking to each other in the distance.
Photography thoughts.
Fermentation thoughts.
Gardening thoughts.
Henry David Thoreau thoughts.
Louisa May Alcott thoughts.
Older parent thoughts.

Think I’ll just post a quote call it good.
“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away.”

One of my favorite quotes Doug 🙂
Say, I follow another blog- an organic farmer in Chicago. Her post this morning was talking about collecting windfall apples for her pigs. But she mentioned in passing something about Japanese Beetles and apple crops so I thought I would pass this on to you since you had issues before with your fruit. I think it was the same bug? but if not maybe this will just be something you can tuck alongside some of your other thoughts.
“… if you are looking for an organic way to keep the Japanese Beetles off your trees – the Apple trees are sprayed with Kaolin Powder. It is a clay. The brand name is Surround. It leaves everything silvery and muddy looking but keeps the bugs off! Organic ways are not always the prettiest!”
Maybe you are aware of this already, but just wanted to pass on the info.

Love that it’s one of your favorite quotes Deb! I’d come across it before and saved it, forgot it, then saw it again this week on FB. Regarding the japanese beetles..they are about 3 weeks behind schedule, and not nearly as thick as the past 5 years. I’m wondering if maybe our harsh winter put a dent into the population. Appreciate the organic tip. They were so bad last season, I decided on a nuclear option (Mustang Max/ restricted use pesticide) It was either that or continue to loose another beautiful apple crop. I hate chemicals as much as anyone, but will use them in a pinch.
